2001 – 2002 tribute (2.0l & 3.0l) 2001 – 2002 b4000 only description some vehicles may exhibit a malfunction indicator lamp (mil) “on” with or without the following symptoms: rough running, lack of power, surge or poor fuel economy, along with diagnostic trouble codes (dtcs) p0401, p0402, p1400 or p1401. This may be caused by an intermittently functioning tube-mounted delta pressure feedback egr (dpfe) sensor. Repair procedure 1. Retrieve dtc(s). – if p0401, p0402, p1400 or p1401 are present, turn ignition off and replace the dpfe sensor. Then pro- ceed to step 2. – if no dtc is retrieved, proceed with appropriate electrical/driveability diagnostics according to workshop manual (section 01-01 troubleshooting). 2. Clear continuous dtc(s). 3. Verify repair by performing key on engine off (koeo) and key on engine running (koer) self-test.
