Customers may complain that the front door opening weatherstrip becomes loose or comes off easily. In addition, there have been concerns that service parts are short in length. The following parts and procedures are provided to address these concerns. Repair Procedure 1. Remove the scuff plate. 2. Remove the old front door opening weatherstrip. 3. Thoroughly remove, with adhesive cleaners, any remnants of mastic sealer that is present on the door frame opening. 4. Install the NEW weatherstrip by following the sequence of steps below (driver’s side shown in illustration). Make sure the weatherstrip is fully seated onto the body. 5. Replace the scuff plate. 6. Follow the same sequence of steps on the passenger’s side of the vehicle, if necessary.
