Removal/Installation WARNING: When the battery cables are connected, touching the vehicle body with starter terminal B will generate sparks. This can cause personal injury, fire, and damage to the electrical components. Always disconnect the battery before performing the following operation. 1. Remove the battery. 2. Remove the air cleaner. 3. Disconnect the selector cable. 4. Remove in the order indicated in the table. 5. Install in the reverse order of removal. SELECTOR LEVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION Warning: Handling the air bag module improperly can accidentally deploy the air bag module, which may seriously injure you. Read AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS before handling the air bag module. (Refer to Air Bags and Seat Belts.) 1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Selector Cable Installation Note 1. Shift the selector lever and manual shaft to P position.
