INSTRUMENT PANEL NOTE: Be aware of all Airbag wiring and components located in and around the instrument panel. Removal 1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. Remove the left underdash cover. See Fig. 12 . 2. Remove the complete steering column assembly. Remove the glove box assembly. See Fig. 13 . Remove both floor console side covers. See Fig. 14 . 3. Remove passenger side Airbag inflator module. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS in RESTRAINTS. Remove floor console box. 4. Remove upper “A” pillar trim panels. See Fig. 15 . Remove floor sill plates. See Fig. 16 . 5. Set temperature control knob to FULL HOT and then disconnect the temperature control cable from the bottom of the heater unit.
NOTE: 6. Remove the instrument panel mounting bolts. See Fig. 17 . 7. Disconnect the harness connectors from the locations shown in figure and remove the instrument panel. See Fig. 18 . Do Not move the temperature controls during repairs. Installation NOTE: When setting the instrument panel into the vehicle, push the 3 hooks (A) into position. See Fig. 19 . Install in reverse order of removal.
