Tests/Procedures: Potential Causes: Tech Tips: 1. Even though the engine quit while driving, look for a picture of the red key symbol on the dash for the immobilizer system. 2. Take the fuel pump relay out of the main fuse/relay box under the hood next to the battery and turn the key ON and check for two battery voltage supplies to the relay connector – one power supply is from the 30 Amp EGI INJ fuse and one is from the main relay. 3. Plug the fuel pump relay back in and have someone crank the engine and feel for the fuel pump relay to click ON. 4. Check the fuel pump relay ground through the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Ground for the fuel pump relay is on the Light Green/Red wire at terminal 70 of the PCM on vehicles equipped with an immobilizer and ground for the fuel pump relay is on the Sky Blue wire at terminal 80 of the PCM on vehicles NOT equipped with an immobilizer. 5. Check for battery voltage to the fuel pump on the Yellow wire (harness side color to the fuel pump) while cranking. 6. Verify the fuel pump ground is good on the Black wire – look for 0.05 volts or less. Fuel Pump Fuel Pump Relay Wiring The fuel pump relay is labeled “circuit relay” on the fuse/relay box cover
